Curriculum planning
The curriculum is formulated according to the Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide (2017) issued by Hong Kong Education Bureau. Apart from the common books carefully selected by the teachers, teaching themes are separated into units, covering language, mathematics, arts, aesthetics, emotion, citizenship education and other learning categories to inspire children’s multiple intelligence development.
We will follow the "Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide" (2017) to plan curriculum. Children of nursery classes will not be asked to write, and there will not be mechanical copying exercises and drills on calculation.
Learning / Teaching approach and activities
The school adopts diversified teaching methods, such as “Themed teaching”, “Project-based Learning”.To achieve “Learning though play”, children are given opportunities to think, discuss, verify, discover and express opinions. Diversified activities, such as outdoor learning visits and community visits, are organised for the students to gain learning experiences by active exploration, observation and practice.
Assessment of children’s learning experiences
The continuous assessment and summative assessment are used to guide students' learning, including unit assessments, observation records, and child development assessment reports, along with a portfolio documenting children's learning progress.
